“atmoon (atmen + moon) is lunar breathing. It is to lose one's head, to let go of the brain, to become confused, altering forms, to become less human, more plant, more part or piece; to tear apart, to defragment to integrate in another way, to mutate moving in confusion; to lose face, to dig and unbury, to unfocus, to be grateful for all those distractions that become a poem.” — Tatiana Heuman
Tatiana Heuman (*1991 in Buenos Aires/Argentina, lives in Berlin) is the winner of the KHM Art Sponsorship Award for FLINTA* 2024 in cooperation with the Museum Morsbroich. She works interdisciplinary in the fields of sound, media arts and somatic movement research. In her artistic work, she is interested on the creation of spaces that promote mutual care, deep listening and collective rest. Tatiana Heuman studied Media Arts at KHM from 2019 to 2023 and successfully completed her studies in 2023 with a Master’s degree.
For her presentation at Museum Morsbroich, Tatiana Heuman has developed a new audiovisual installation in collaboration with the video artists Tati Cuoco and Alice Daneluzzo: atmoon. The installation unfolds in three spaces, representing different states of embodiment through simple gestures that acquire intensity in repetition and contemplation. It is an attempt to turn our gaze around, turn our eyes inwards and activate listening. atmoon invites us to become a spacious, breathing ear, listening for unexpected sensations, to perceive the body as a fragile landscape of memory.
The KHM Art Sponsorship Award for female artists* (FLINTA*), endowed with 1.000 Euro, has been established between the KHM’s Equal Opportunities Department and the Museum Morsbroich since 2020. The aim of the award is to support, network and present emerging female artists* in their transition from art school to the free market and to a broad audience.
